Denia is a beautiful city which is located at the bottom of the majestic mountain of Montgo and this city owes its beauty to the fact that it is also situated along a bay. The harbor of the city is full of palms and it is located scenically in a strategic position on the bay and this adds to its beauty. Denia is an important city of Spain but still this city has not changed much, as you will find that its original Mediterranean ambiance still exists. There is a famous fishing port as well in Denia and here, ferries are available to offer you a trip to the Islands of Menorca, Balearic and Majorca which are located about three hours away from Denia.

El Castillo is the landmark of this city which is a beautiful fortress of medieval times. Construction was begun during the 11th and 12th centuries but later on this fortress was extended. You can have some great views of the coast, harbor and the city from the towers of this castle. This castle is famous for organizing many concerts here during the summers.

Besides the castle, you can also visit Diannium which is located on the same mountain and this was built by the Romans. You can also visit the Archeological Museum of the castle where you can see the remains of ancient houses and some fortifications as well.

The Old Town of the city is also worth visiting as it has many narrow streets with picturesque views, and these were also constructed by the Moors. Since Denia is an important trading town because of the harbor, you also will find many buildings in the city which are built in modern designs. The city is also famous for its toy manufacturing industry and you can also visit the Toy Museum to look at many exhibits of the toys made in the city.

Baix la Mar is a quarter which is located in the port and here you will find many fishermen's houses built in traditional style. Denia is a place where you cannot afford to miss the seafood as this city has some great dishes made from seafood.
